The refuge, an atypical place, a dream environment<\/strong>Often imagined as too difficult to access, the high mountains are increasingly opening up to hiking enthusiasts and wide open spaces and no longer only to experienced mountaineers. The refuges of the Pays des \u00c9crins are often the arrival of hiking and the beginning of mountaineering. This is the final stage of the hiker, and it is above all his place of comfort after the walk! This atypical place, with its recognizable architecture from a thousand miles away, is a high place of conviviality and return to the roots. An evening and a night in a refuge is the assurance of a magical and timeless moment in an idyllic setting. It is the assurance of a disconnection from your daily life and a reconnection with the human. <\/p>\n\n

Discover a night in a refuge<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n

First it’s the climb to the refuge<\/strong>. In the early afternoon, you start your hike to the refuge (from 2 to 4 hours of walking depending on the refuge). Still located in the heart of the \u00c9crins National Park, you will surely be lucky enough to come across marmots or chamois not far from the trail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arrival at the refuge.<\/strong> Put down your backpack, take off your shoes, put on the loaner slippers so as not to dirty the refuge and enjoy the environment of the refuge and the exceptional view. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening.<\/strong> No showers in the evening, water is a scarce commodity in the mountains. Head for dinner around 7pm and a hearty meal to regain strength after a sporty afternoon. You can then enjoy the leisure activities of the refuge (book, board game, card game) before a well-deserved night’s sleep. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awakening.<\/strong> Waking up cool and well rested. You descend in the early morning to have breakfast before descending back down into the valley. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discover the shelter experience<\/h3><\/div>\n\n

About 2 hours away<\/strong>, head for the Bans refuge<\/strong> for a magnificent hike in a bucolic setting<\/strong> in the middle of chamois and marmots. Arriving in the late afternoon, you will put down your bag and enjoy the calm of the refuge. <\/p>\n\n

You will then enjoy a farmhouse fondue<\/strong> inside the refuge to regain your strength and warm up. You can then play the board game in the refuge, read, according to your desires. Overnight in the dormitory<\/strong>. The next day, in the early morning, you will eat a hearty breakfast<\/strong> with local products<\/strong> before heading back down to the valley. <\/p>\n\n
