At the junction of the Onde and the Gyr, the Gyronde <\/strong>is created and its waters trace the Vallouise valley<\/strong>. A course classified III\/IV<\/strong>, marked by a few rapids <\/strong>at the beginning. The Blanche <\/strong>behind and the Queyras <\/strong>in the line of sight offer a rich panorama. However, beware of the pumping station at the exit of Vallouise. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The second part of the Gyronde is more sporty <\/strong>and rushes into the gorges <\/strong>under the B\u00e2tie des Vigneaux<\/strong>. Classified III\/IV<\/strong>, this section is more isolated<\/strong>, especially in the gorges<\/strong>, before arriving in the Argenti\u00e8re basin. The view opens up quickly when you arrive at the Argenti\u00e8re, on the Durance<\/strong> valley, bordered between the Queyras <\/strong>and the \u00c9crins<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

L’argenti\u00e8re-la-Bess\u00e9e<\/em>The whitewater stadium<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This stadium<\/strong>, located on the natural course of the Durance <\/strong>and artificially rocked, is a dream place<\/strong> for experienced<\/strong> kayakers. Usable from spring to autumn, this stadium offers a privileged setting for training <\/strong>and improvement<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Le Gyr: <\/em>from Pelvoux to Vallouise<\/h3><\/div>\n\n

An extremely sporty <\/strong>and demanding<\/strong> river<\/strong>, which will delight the most adventurous <\/strong>among you. Rated IV\/V<\/strong>, the Gyr is everything a high mountain river should be: fast<\/strong>, powerful<\/strong>, cold <\/strong>and without pauses, but it is terribly satisfying <\/strong>to get to the end! This portion of the emblematic Durance <\/strong>is a perfect initiation <\/strong>course for anyone wishing to learn about whitewater. This course complements the practice in the Argenti\u00e8re stadium very well, on a course classified III<\/strong>, marked by a single rapid <\/strong>at the entrance to La Roche-de-Rame. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Durance: <\/em>from La Roche-de-Rame to Saint-Cl\u00e9ment-sur-Durance<\/h3><\/div>\n\n

The journey on the Durance continues on this section made for beginners or <\/strong>for a quiet <\/strong>and peaceful<\/strong> walk<\/strong>, with family or friends. Without any major risk<\/strong>, this classified II <\/strong>route is an opportunity to observe the Durance<\/strong> valley, arriving at the Serre-Pon\u00e7on lake<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

L’Onde: <\/em>from Entre-Aigues to Vallouise<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In the protected glacial valley<\/strong> that leads from Entre-Aigues to Vallouise, the Onde <\/strong>flows, cold and tumultuous. Easy to access, this river , classified III\/IV,<\/strong> with a few steep rapids <\/strong>, does not present any particular danger and offers a splendid view of the T\u00eate d’Amont<\/strong>. The finish is on the outskirts of Vallouise <\/strong>at the G\u00e9rondoine bridge. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

La Byaisse (Part 1): <\/em>from the Pont des Oules to Freissini\u00e8res<\/h3><\/div>\n\n

A little gem<\/strong> hidden at the bottom of the Freissini\u00e8res valley, the Biaysse is an exceptional<\/strong> river, narrow <\/strong>and technical<\/strong>, quite intimate. The start is a heavenly <\/strong>place that you would almost find difficult to leave, if the call of the river was not so strong. This long course, between 2h30 and 4h depending on the knowledge of the route, is classified IV<\/strong>, is marked by many rapid<\/strong> and small falls <\/strong>that will delight the most seasoned among you. <\/p>\n\n

La Byaisse (Part 2): <\/em>from Freissini\u00e8res to Pallon<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Much shorter than the first portion, this route lasts only about twenty minutes and is perfectly suited to the discovery <\/strong>of white water in the high mountains<\/strong>. The route, classified II\/III <\/strong>, is done quietly <\/strong>with the Queyras <\/strong>in focus, in a superb alpine valley! <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Durance: <\/em>from Prelles to Argenti\u00e8re<\/h3><\/div>\n\n

A must-see <\/strong>in the region, a passage through the mythical gorges <\/strong>of the Durance! The gorges<\/strong> are engaged <\/strong>and narrow, classified III-IV<\/strong>. <\/strong>Despite a few mandatory portages, the last rapids that follow one another are magical<\/strong>, for an unforgettable<\/strong> experience. <\/p>\n\n

The Guisane<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bonus gift: Two possible sections <\/strong>on the emblematic river of the Serre-Chevalier<\/strong> valley, starting from Mon\u00eatier-les-Bains<\/strong> and Chantemerle<\/strong>. The first is classified II-III<\/strong> and is perfect for an introduction to alpine rivers, crossing several hamlets, in a calm way, except on the few rapids <\/strong>that add spice to the crossing. The second course is more technical, classified III-IV<\/strong>, punctuated by a few rapids <\/strong>without excessive difficulty. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
