Floods

A heavy rainstorm swept through the region on Friday, August 28, causing the closure of certain roads:
From Vallouise to Pelvoux
- Left-bank trail closed—Stay on the right bank and on the upper path (there is a small collapsed section that you’ll need to go around)
- ⚠️ Ailefroide Gorge Via Ferrata, in Les Claux: closed
Toward the Béassac Chapel / Entre les Aygues / Les Bans Shelter (open)
- The road is open all the way to the Béassac Chapel
- Hiking trail: a few difficult sections, but passable
Ailefroide / Pré de Madame Carle Area
- To Madame Carle’s Meadow: road closed at Ailefroide but accessible on foot: 4.8 km, 360 m elevation gain
- National Park Visitor Center at Pré de Madame Carle: Closed
- The Pré de Madame Carle mountain hut is closed
Outdoor Routes
- To Madame Carle’s meadow: access is possible only from the right bank (4.8 km, 360 m elevation gain); mountain huts are open
- Toward the Pelvoux and Sélé mountain huts: trail is challenging in places; the Sélé mountain hut is open; the Pelvoux mountain hut is unstaffed
- The footbridge over the Celse Nière stream (behind the campground) sustained significant damage when the stream flowed to the right of the bridge pier, but it’s still passable on foot.

- Trail 15 – Temporary disruptions at the Ailefroide crossing due to the removal of material that has accumulated in the EDF dam; take the road between Saint Antoine and Les Essarts and cross the Gorges Bridge at Sarret (see below)
- Trail 17 – Closed
- Trail 19, which will be modified on-site to include the ascent via the fishermen’s trail (instead of the trail)
- Mountain Bike Trail 3 – Closed
- Mountain Bike Trail 4 – Closed
- 3-Day Tour of the Pays des Écrins – The road is closed between the Vaudois campground and the Rif Bridge; take the La Latcha trail instead, which descends to the Rif Bridge via the Sebeyrare Stream
- 6- and 7-Day Tour of the Pays des Écrins – Temporary disruptions along the route through Ailefroide due to the removal of material that has accumulated in the EDF dam + take the road between Saint Antoine and Les Essarts and the Gorges Bridge at Sarret (see below)
The young vines
- The road is closed between the Pont du Rif and the Vaudois campground in Les Vigneaux.
Freissinieres
It is not possible to cross between Les Aujards and Dormillouse in the town of Freissinières due to flooding of the three streams—Odeyer, Allibrands, and Pisse.
