Family adventure in the Écrins
24-hour micro-adventureof nature and escape
Looking for a weekend that is simple, funny and exotic at the same time? The Pays des Écrins has everything you need for a micro-adventure with your family. In 24 or 48 hours, collect glacial lakes, bivouacs under the stars, fun trails and nature swims. You don’t have to go far to disconnect strongly.
Where to put your bag (and tent)?
- Plaine de Vallouise – Pont des Places
Meadows, larches, wooden footbridges: a perfect spot for a night in a tent. The youngest play Robinson, the teenagers try slackline and pebble huts.
- Lake Fangeas – Freissinières
Easy access from the Oules car park. Shady trail (3 km, +560 m) to an alpine lake bordered by pontoons. Observe newts, cotton grass, and enjoy a quiet picnic area. - La Roche-de-Rame lake
Paddle, pedal boats, inflatable water park, supervised swimming. Perfect for cooling off, relaxing and moving around a bit. Shaded areas for naps, electric barbecues to end the day.

Ideas for express micro-adventures
- Elves’ trail + star bivouac
Interactive course (4 km) in Vallouise, then bivouac at the Pont des Places. Hunt for shooting stars and sleep under the Milky Way. - Bike trailer + canoe
Morning greenway along the Gyr (10 km round trip), canoeing on the Argentière lake in the afternoon, with pancake snack. - Light glacial exploration
Climb to the Pré de Madame Carle, short hike to the Glacier Blanc bridge. Marmots, shiny stones and hot chocolate at the Cézanne refuge.
Tips
- Lightweight bag for kids, multifuel stove, water filter
- Access by train + local shuttles
- Respect for nature: no fires, rubbish taken away, wildlife observed… at a distance
