Ecotourism in the Pays des Écrins is a tourism that is interested in the discovery and preservation of nature, as well as the exploration of lifestyles different from one’s own.
We are lucky to be one of the gateways to the Écrins National Park. We have direct access to one of the most natural, wild and unspoilt areas in France. Our daily life takes place in the heart of unspoilt nature, and we must protect it.

This is why we encourage our partners to obtain the “Esprit Parc” brand who are committed to the preservation of nature and these people, while promoting this exceptional territory in the best possible way. Above all, he values travel and consumption in a different way.

Roaming, towards alternative tourism
Discover our landscapes in a respectful way at the rhythm of nature. Thanks to soft means of transport such as walking or cycling, reconnect with nature and experience authentic encounters along your route.
In addition to benefiting from varied and exceptionally well-preserved landscapes, many accommodations and refuges are present in the Pays des Écrins allowing us to have several routes on the territory. We have something for everyone, from long sporty tours such as the GR54 or the Tour des Écrins in 6 days, to stays accessible to the whole family such as the Tour des Écrins in 3 days or the Tour of the refuges in the heart of the Écrins National Park.
You can also opt for the bivouac, to immerse yourself even more in the heart of nature. However, beware of the rules of bivouacing, especially in the National Park.
And if not, in terms of transport?
How can we talk about sustainable tourism if we don’t address the issue of transport? Mobility is one of the key issues in reducing our environmental impact. We offer solutions for stays without your car, rent electrically assisted bicycles (EABs) for the duration of your stay, use public transport, … We also offer luggage carrying solutions to travel light during your travels.
The Pays des Écrins by shuttle
In winter, the Communauté de Commune du Pays des Écrins provides shuttles that serve the various municipalities of the territory, to Puy Saint Vincent 1400, 1600 and 1800 and Pelvoux-Vallouise.
Prices: between €1 and €3. The ticket can be taken directly from the shuttle.
