Autumn in the Cases
Land of JewelsAutumn and its flamboyant colours
The summer season is coming to an end, the vegetation of the Pays des Écrins will soon abandon its summer finery and the green of its mountain pastures, to dress in its flamboyant autumn colours. A real festival of colours, the landscapes will soon be tinged with orange colours with golden luminosity. A little later in the season, the first white spots will be sprinkled on the tops, for an even more colorful décor. The mushrooms will start to make their way under the fallen leaves and the autumn plants will replace the summer ones.
On the wildlife side, it is soon time for the marmots to prepare their provisions for this winter, while the chamois will gradually return to the valley bottoms.
And in all this, how can we enjoy such a beautiful colorful spectacle?

Mushroom picking
While some will indulge in sports activities, others more contemplative, greedy and/or lovers of picking, will be able to stock up on mushrooms! As long as you find the perfect spot…
Here are some tips:
- Take the time to walk through the forests (it’s the perfect time to find little corners never explored before)
- Walk after the rain or in wet corners (the colors of the landscapes will be all the more beautiful!)
- Pay attention to the surrounding vegetation (mushrooms are somewhat related to some trees!)
Take time for yourself
If for some autumn rhymes with the blues, it can also be an opportunity to recharge your batteries. Take advantage of the golden lights at the beginning of the evening to meditate, the milder temperatures to practice physical activity. Eat seasonal vegetables. Take time to rest and reconnect with nature.
