The Glacier Blanc refuge, easily accessible to everyone, is situated on the edge (left side) of the glacier of the same name, opposite the large, beautiful, wild north face of the Pelvoux, the Pic sans Nom and the Ailefroides.
The Glacier Blanc is situated in the heart of the Écrins massif in a remarkable mineral, glacial environment, giving an exceptional dimension to the site. The Glacier Blanc refuge (2550 m) is easily accessible in this impressive site (2½- hour walk). Mid-way between the Pré de Mme Carle and the Écrins refuge, it prompts hikers and mountaineers to stop a while on its large sunny terrace, with a view of the Pelvoux. For mountaineers, it gives access to fabulous mountain trails such as Les Agneaux, le Pic du Glacier Blanc, le Cinéastes, Neige Cordier… Catering possible when the warden is present. Reservation necessary.
