Chambran, alpine memory in winter clothes
📍 Chambran, a hamlet perched at an altitude of 1700 m, is home to beautiful stone chalets, witnesses of life in the past on these mountain pastures. Once inhabited in summer, they now stand like a frozen setting under the snow.
A small chapel dedicated to Saint-Jean watches over the hamlet. All around, the old alpine meadows (grazed in summer) are a reminder of the rich pastoral past of the place.
Off the slopes, the Écrins differently
At the gateway to the Écrins National Park, this valley offers a grandiose setting for all the pleasures of the snow:
- Snowshoeing and ski touring to secret panoramas
- Family sledging and downhill skiing on the slopes near Pelvoux
- Ice climbing and winter mountaineering for the adventurous
Under the winter sun, the shimmering powder and frosted larch forests create a magical picture.
