An exceptional site for hikers and mountaineers
This glacial plateau is the unmissable starting point for the great races to the Barre des Écrins (4,102 m), the Dôme des Écrins, the Roche Faurio or the Agneaux. It is easily accessible from Ailefroide via a road built in 1938. Glacier Blanc car park (end of the road) Check the weather, get equipped (crampons, warm jacket, water bottle) and leave early. Respects the instructions of the National Park: marked trails, protected fauna, fragile site.

Jealous, her husband would have deprived their mule of water and food, leading her to the Saint-Pierre torrent where Madame Carle disappeared forever.
