FIS Alpine Ski Races[GS/SL] Men’s and Women’s

Welcome to Puy Saint Vincent, the ski resort nestled in the heart of the Écrins National Park. Once again this year, the resort is hosting major competitions: the men’s FIS Alpine Skiing [GS/SL] race and the women’s FIS Alpine Skiing [GS] race. These spectacular events will showcase the world’s top international skiers in two disciplines: Giant Slalom and Slalom.

High-level ski races

  1. Giant Slalom (GS)

The Giant Slalom, or “Giant,” is a highly technical race. On a course longer than that of the traditional slalom, competitors must navigate gates spaced at irregular intervals while reaching impressive speeds. Agility, precision, and the ability to link turns at high speed are crucial to success in this event.

2. Slalom
Slalom is an even more technical event, in which skiers must weave through gates set very close together. It’s a true test of agility and reaction time, where every millisecond counts. The slightest mistake can be costly, and falls are common in this intense discipline.
