Want to learn more about the villages you pass through? To look up at a forgotten mural, a crooked bell tower, or an old building? Elsa Giraud, a historian and passionate tour guide, takes you on lively and accessible guided tours to discover the heritage of the Pays des Écrins.
The Sacred, the Rural, and the Archives
With her, we explore churches, chapels, murals, and hilltop hamlets… but also what isn’t visible at first glance. Behind every stone lies a story. And behind every story are in-depth archival research, anecdotes, and discoveries to share.
Elsa doesn’t just give tours: she also conducts historical research, compiles inventories of cultural heritage (sacred art objects, ethnographic collections, etc.), and designs lectures, scavenger hunts, and educational materials. In short, she brings this region—which we think we know—to life… until she starts talking about it.
Tour Prices
- Individual tours:
- 1-hour tour: 7 €
- 1.5- to 2-hour tour: €9
- Groups (13 to 30 people):
- Church tour (1 hour): 125 €
- Village tour (1 hour 30 minutes): 140 €
- Half-day (3 hours): 185 €
- Full day (7 hours): 310 € (+ guide’s meal)
