This place, at the same time a centre of information, exhibitions and meetings, invites you to understand, feel, touch and even feel (yes, literally) the richness of the Pays des Écrins.
An emblematic and committed building
The building itself is worth a visit: a large structure of glass and reinforced concrete, built in 1977, modernized in 2014. It combines bold twentieth-century architecture and eco-renovation, with a real concern for accessibility for all. A kind of flagship in the heart of Vallouise.
Animmersive and sensory exhibition
Inside, a permanent immersive exhibition takes you through the emblematic landscapes: the Durance valley, the larch forests, the flowery mountain pastures, the glaciers… You can discover the geology of the massif, the discreet fauna, the plants, and above all the work of humans and the Park to preserve these treasures.
It’s playful, interactive, sometimes even funny: optical theatre, tactile models, videos, sound bells, “smellamas”… You won’t be bored. Young and old, there is something for everyone. Even the timeline with its archaeological objects and engravings provides a better understanding of the evolution of the territory.
An audiovisual room completes the visit with films and conferences. A reading and games corner invites you to take a break. The Maison du Parc is also a starting point for the discovery trail between the village of Vallouise and the building. And all year round, animations, children’s workshops and events punctuate the program.
