Franck Violin has been a beekeeper for over 20 years, looking after a herd of 300 hives. Established at La Roche-de-Rame, in the Écrins region, he guarantees his bees an unspoilt environment surrounded by wild flowers.
The Rucher du Chardon bleu produces mainly high-mountain honey from the precious nectars of dandelion, raspberry, rhododendron, willowherb, wild thyme... The honey is harvested in the Fournel, Vallouise and Lautaret valleys between 1,400 and 1,800 m, then processed in the honey house at Argentière la Bessée to preserve all its flavours.
Every season, regulars and connoisseurs are eager to meet Franck at the markets in Villeneuve-la-Salle, Vallouise or Monêtier-les-Bains.
